Institution Advancement brings together two Departments;
Marketing and Public Information and the GTCC Foundation in order
to engage with the College and the larger philanthropic and
business community to raise awareness of our mission and to build
the infrastructure resources necessary to support major fund
raising and college growth in the future. Those efforts will
lead to the trained and educated modern work force necessary for
the creation of more jobs and prosperity and to enhance the quality
of life for all of us living in Guilford County. Institutional
Advancement does this in numerous ways:
- Provides quality marketing activities, planning and
strategy to promote better understanding of GTCC and enhance the
College brand and image while effectively communicating to meet the
needs of students, faculty and staff and community
constituents.
- Responds in a timely manner to requests for information
from the media and the general public as needed.
- Champions the college through the GTCC Foundation by
cultivating corporate, individual and loyal alumni relationships to
raise and manage more resources and grants for student scholarships
and funds for key college initiatives in areas not covered by
shrinking federal, state and local budgets.
- Supports the President in forging partnerships with
corporate, political and civic organizations to support the
College.
- Collaborates and looks for opportunities to invest,
partner or create entrepreneurial activities which will deliver new
or enhanced revenue streams to the college and advance the college
toward its' Mission.
Public Information
The Public Information function is charged with conveying the
institution's mission by providing honest, timely and useful
information on college activities, educational and intellectual
programs, services and initiatives to all internal and external
stakeholders and constituents. In addition, Institutional
Advancement assists the President in cultivating relationships with
local, state and national organizations and leaders in support of
the college.
Marketing and Special Events
The Marketing and Special Events function provides event promotion,
communication, strategy development, publications, brand imaging,
and other services to all areas of the college and its
administration.
GTCC Foundation
The GTCC Foundation was created to support the college through
private gifts and donations operating as a non-profit 501C (3)
organization. The Foundation solicits and administers
charitable gifts and grants in accordance with GTCC's mission and
goals. The Foundation's focus includes; scholarships and
programs that advance student learning, faculty and staff
development, innovation and infrastructure support and other
activities to support GTCC.
As part of the Foundation, Alumni Affairs at
Guilford Technical Community College serves to promote and enhance
positive relationships between the college and its Alumni to
develop, plan and implement programs and activities which stimulate
interest, build loyalty, and generate financial support for
GTCC.
Service
Institutional Advancement serves all areas of GTCC and is engaged
with the community at large in activities which are "Creating
Successful Futures" for students and the college which will lead
the way toward prosperity and jobs for our community.
