English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or (ESL)

ESOL is for adults whose first language is not English. Students can improve their listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and writing skills. GTCC offers free Basic, Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced level courses, as well as TOEFL preparation (test of English as a foreign language) and Citizenship classes. At the High Point campus, we also offer classes that help prepare students to take the General Educational Development (GED) test in Spanish. See beginning of Basic Skills section for more information.
