Summer Pell Policy and Procedures

Due to the recent Congressional vote that took place in the spring of 2011, you will not be able to get more than one Pell Grant award per school year.

This means that to get a summer Pell Grant you would have to either not be going to school during the previous fall and/or spring semesters, or you would have to choose to not utilize all of your Pell Grant aid during those academic terms.

The bottom line is that you can no longer get more than one full Pell Grant award per academic year.

"Will I have Pell for the summer?"

That depends on how you answer the following questions.

1. Were you full time(12 or more credit hours) for the FAll 2011 semester at GTCC or another school?(Did you receive the full amount of your Pell Grant?)
If Yes, then Go to the next question.
If No, then YOU WILL HAVE ELIGIBILITY FOR 2012 SUMMER PELL (This is subject to proration based on your enrollment)

2. Are you full time(12 or more credit hours) for Spring 2012?(Did you receive the full amount of your Pell Grant?)
If Yes, then YOU WILL NOT HAVE ELIGIBILITY FOR 2012 SUMMER PELL.
If No, then YOU WILL HAVE ELIGIBILITY FOR 2012 SUMMER PELL. (This is subject to proration based on your enrollment)
