A beginning stained glass course employing the copper foil (Tiffany style) method of stained glass. The student will learn the art of cutting, grinding, foiling and soldering stained glass while completing a small panel from patterns provided by the instructor. Some cutting experience is recommended but not required. All tools will be provided. Additional expense $10 (lead & foil, etc) plus student supplied 2 - 3 12 inch square sheets of glass. This stained glass course is for the student with prior stained glass cutting experience. Student will gain experience and confidence in cutting skills while completing a moderately difficult panel incorporating more advanced techniques such as plating and/or wire for foil overlay. In this class the student will construct a piece of garden art, fabrication method choice of stained glass or mosaic. Glass suggestions are bird feeder, wind twirler, lawn sculpture, etc. Mosaic suggestions are bird house, gazing ball, bird bath, wall hanging, etc. The student will be cutting, nipping and/or breaking glass to complete a project of individual design.
