Welcome to the GTCC Orientation Page

SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) is required for students who are:

  • Attending college for the first time
  • Attending GTCC for the first time, but have previous college experience
  • Returning to GTCC after non-attendance for two (2) or more years

Who does not have to complete SOAR?

  • Students who have completed an Associate Degree or higher
  • Students who are Special Credit (taking courses, but not completing a degree at GTCC)
SOAR

ONLINE SOAR - Who is eligible?

-Available to students who have taken the placement test and placed into no more than one (1) developmental education course (English, Reading and Math courses that begin with "0" - For Example: ENG-070).

-Eligible students will see the option to complete Online SOAR on the SOAR session dates page.

-Students who have placed into two (2) or more developmental education courses must complete a face-to-face SOAR session.
