Free tutoring is offered in the Learning Assistance Center for curriculum students who seek assistance with their coursework. The purpose of the tutoring program is to help students become independent and successful learners by developing strong study skills, a better understanding of course content, enhanced self-confidence and a positive attitude toward learning.
Professional and peer tutors are available to meet the individual needs of students. Peer tutors are currently enrolled students who have shown proficiency in the course in which they are tutoring and have been recommended by their instructors to be tutors. Peer tutoring is offered by appointment for developmental and curriculum courses. Professional tutors are available on a walk-in basis to assist students with developmental courses.
If you are interested in receiving tutorial assistance or becoming tutor, see the Learning Assistance Center staff for further information.
